Can you explain how Green New Deal is sustainable?

An Electrical Engineer on this side.

At scale, both Solar and Wind energy could hardly sustain the complex needs of an electrical grid, further Solar power has a key issue with energy storage, the dynamic climate makes it unsustainable and a nightmare for peak demand and energy fulfillment in the grid, which requires days worth of planning. Have a look at Duck Curve, the mitigation strategy for duck curve are extremely power inefficient, while pumped storage has been touted has one solution, the major issue with storing energy as potential is the issue of site requirements for constructions, and on the run efficiencies peak at 67-70%, while average efficiency comes to about 50%. There are some other energy storage solutions but they are extremely expensive, not to mention mining lithium also produces greenhouse gases. I don't think complex large energy demands can be met by Solar power.

What are your thoughts on instead of going absolute green, we should at least, for now, focus on Molten salt reactors, which albeit do produce some radioactive material but yet are relatively clean and can sustain complex grid demands?
