I live in Florida and work for a very conservative business. The owners are morally against the idea of working from home, even if your job can be done remotely. Do you think there is anything science based that can break through to people, to convince them that home is the safest work environment? They have put some measures in place but a few people have already tested positive.

I find this happening with a lot of petitions I've signed lately. Maybe this isn't the intention but I feel like sometimes organizations are using issues to farm email addresses for their list.

Thank you for the reply. I agree wholeheartedly, I wish there was some level at which you could reach people like that but so far I haven't found it.

Wow that's almost a 40 hour work week's worth of listening. So when can we start getting paid to consume literature? Sign me up for that job...

That's how they are handling it where I work too. They told us about the first people to test positive, and shut down for 1 day, but I'm skeptical they'll let us know if additional employees test positive. They didn't encourage anyone to get tested, and when my coworker did go get tested and wanted to self isolate until he got the results, they told him they didn't think that was a good enough reason to not come to work if he wasn't exhibiting symptoms. He took time off without pay anyway. None of the hourly employees get any paid sick time.
