What dosage did they give you and what’s your height/weight? Did they brief you at all on what to expect?

Honestly, it sounds like you really should’ve been prepared better for the treatment (by the doctors; certainly no fault of your own).

Ketamine can be extremely disorienting for first timers, and for someone with no frame of reference I could easily see how it would become almost immediately overwhelming. It sounds like your doctors either a) didn’t titer you up gradually enough, b) didn’t manage your expectations nor indeed give you any beyond “nothing will hurt anymore!” Or C) both.

They should definitely have told you about the possibility of a K hole, which it sounds like you experienced, but also not given you so much that it induced a K hole.

Here in the states the dosages are almost imperceptible — 10mg, vs say, 80-150mg to induce a k hole.

They should also have prepared you for what that experience is like — the temporal shifts that make you feel as though time is inverting; that your perception of reality fades into almost crystalline architectures before your brain goes into a sort of feedback loop, and then you’re back.

Personally I’ve found it incredibly therapeutic for depression. But YMMV, and I certainly wouldn’t want to give that to anybody who didn’t know clearly what to expect.

I hope you try it again, honestly, with a better healthcare provider and perhaps some new research on your own from the likes of Erowid and Psychonautwiki.

Thank you for the encouragement, but... Aren't a lot of automated job portals just scanning for degrees? I've read on numerous forums and posts that increasingly HR just automatically discards applicants that don't have things filled into degree fields.

How do you handle people who are relatively qualified but don’t have college degrees? I’m almost certainly biased, but I’ve found despite really strong written skills and experience with major, major companies (Netflix, Disney, et al) I’ll often not even receive a reply. Thanks!
