Did you really drive down the M40 off your face on acid?

I think it changed after Iraq and the Hutton Report. It seems nowadays that the BBC's editorial position (on world affairs at least) never deviates from H.M. Government's stance to any meaningful extent.

Glad to see your question at the top but based on the fluffiness of the answers given so far I wouldn't hold my breath for a response.

Thanks for doing this AMA!

I don't have any questions, I just wanted to say that Russia is the devil and I hope that the USA can help to bring peace, democracy, prosperity and fwuffy wittle kittens to the oppressed people of the Ukraine.

I'm so proud that this thread received a bajillion upvotes in the space of 20 minutes. We did it reddit!

Do you think that the BBC has become more 'conservative' in its reporting on world affairs since the fallout from the Hutton report?

I ask because it is now very rare to see the BBC editorial position deviate in any way from that of the UK Government. This has been very obvious in coverage of the situation in Crimea, and was very noticeable during the Libyan civil war.
