Blimey, of course not. I wouldn't be advocating for that!!!
It's an interesting one though, for sure. We held a school election waaay back in 1997 and our result was a landslide for the Tories. When I asked everyone else they voted that way because that's always the way their parents voted. A Tory landslide in 1997 FFs!
I hope I'm not coming across as young voters = stupid but it's certainly an interesting issue to think about particularly with regard to the idea of teaching about it in schools. Almost not 'this why you should vote' as a start point but 'these are the things to consider when voting and oh look, they concern you!'

It's something I wonder about. Certainly, it is my experience working with young people that they can see some issues as very black and white (immigration = wholly bad) for example.
Then I remember the chemistry PhD on my Facebook who posts all kinds of ill-informed shit and realise that if you're going to have democracy, you got to allow for all kinds of chumps, of all ages.

Do you think the rise of UKIP and other more 'nationalist' parties would be helped or hindered by younger voters? Or does it matter not in democracy?

You should have started this comment with 'Good afternoon Hank' and then he would have known straight away!
