My son donated a kidney to me in 2015. At 5’11” 205 lbs, and in perfect health, he was told he had to lose 25 lbs before he could be a donor. After he did that, THEN the doctor told me that I also had to lose 25 lbs in 3 weeks or I’d get moved down on the transplant list. Assholes waited till the last minute, but I fucking did it. 25 lbs in 3 weeks. The surgery was scheduled a week later.
