I was gonna say giving up cigarettes is likely one of the hardest things you can do - but uh you just sacrificed an organ for a loved one, so I’m gonna say you seem pretty well equipped to deal with hard moments.
Be good to yourself.

there are a lot of 80 yr old men out there standing over their kitchen sinks deciding between a serrated knife, or a cleaver.

i work at a hotel in manhattan. garfunkel stayed with us periodically while prepping for a tour with paul simon in 2009. garfunkel refused to use, or didn't use email at this point, and he had the front desk fax correspondence for him sometimes. he came down one day and had us send this. he hand wrote that in one go with a sharpie in front of five people. it was pretty amazing. needless to say, the tour was cancelled, and shortly after he took a leave of absence due to vocal paresis. garfunkel was pretty nice in most of our dealings with him, if not a little bit particular. i consider myself a bit of a fan, so maybe i'm a bit more forgiving than a few of my colleagues - but i have it on good account that he could be a bit of a prick to our housekeepers if things weren't to his liking... not that it's a shock, he's only a person after all, and we all have our bad days, but if he were first in line while i were doling out crowns, i'd send him to the rear. fun times. enjoy!
edit: i accidentally a word

LaBeouf doesn't get the love he deserves, but as a Texas ranger, I'm certain he's faced lonelier nights on some trail - it's a good thing he's a deft hand at fire building ...but keen enough to know that it oughtn't be constructed too high.

Older brother of a friend in HS ruptured his testicle. Parents declined the prosthetic as it was too expensive. The Uniballer still managed to have a sense of humor about it.
