Mr Tannenbaum,

Thanks a lot for doing this, we really appreciate it here.

Who is your favorite "sleeper" pick-up? Call it the "crowned jewel" of a GM's career, but I think that it's the small contracts that build a championship team, not the huge blockbuster ones. It may sound funny coming from a Saints fan, but it's working for the NFC West right now and the Sharpers and Thomases are who got us to the Super Bowl in 09. Who's a guy with such tremendous talent that you got him for almost nothing and he turned out to be a huge component of your AFC Championship bound teams (or was simply worth way more than he got haha)?

I love that dude. Self made is definitely the best way to describe him, and he's been terrific as a utility back (for lack of a better term) throughout his career. Thanks a lot for your response, I really appreciate it.

If I may expand (and I know that you're busy so I understand if you can't respond right now or at all), with preseason just beginning, what do you as a GM look for out of players? I've always wondered about the front office formula during preseason, since you have to (or maybe you don't, again, I'm not well-versed in how it works) consider that second teamers are playing second teamers and that skill gap has to be considered (or not) insofar as how they'll perform should they be needed in a regular season game situation. Is it sheer technical skill or is it something else?
