I actually just went through something like this. had a lymph node removed and even though the hole was inches wide and inches deep into my body, simple packing removal and repacking kept it able to completely heal in about 2-3 weeks. having taken antibiotics for most of my life due to illnesses, I try to avoid them at all costs as to keep my resistance as minimal as possible. totally thought I would end up with an infection with such a massive open wound in a site that sweats and gets buildup of bacteria(armpit), but the body has a pretty good natural defense system without something suppressing it. thanks for doing what you did, and helping people who needed it. I have been on the operating table a lot, and it's scary to put your life in someone else's hands.

I had the same issue when I was younger. Unfortunately mine was too severe and they did the procedure at age 4 which was a more disfiguring procedure. My lungs still are the size of a 13 year olds at age 27, and heart is way off from it's normal position. I have since had open heart surgery and a few pacemaker surgeries. So if you would like to ever have an ear to listen, I have been through a bit and know where you'll be coming from. PM me whenever if that's the case.

but they become resistant due to our use of antibiotics. so that's all I mean. I am trying to not contribute to the problem if I can help it.

Remember, dont feed the trolls! If this guy is really serious, than he is an asshole who obviously cant help but spout off his opinion like it's the only valid one, so just ignore it. You did something that many may consider strange and taboo, but that doesnt make it wrong. Just not everyone's cup of tea. But it's easy enough for them to not eat the flesh of another human, so they should seriously shut the hell up unless they have something to contribute or a legitimate question about your situation and what you did. All I have to say is a lot of people wont understand it, but that doesnt make you wrong for being curious and open to a rare(even disturbing to some) experience. Hopefully you are able to move on in life with the amputation and have a pretty regular life again. I know amputations can cause a lot of grief and pain. So I wish you the best of luck!

For sure! Like I said, you are quite lucky that they have switched the procedure! Should be a smooth recovery with a nice end result! I actually am recovering as well right now from a pacemaker surgery. So good luck with your recovery bro!
