You need a masters to teach a University. When I lived in Korea most of the University Jobs came from word of mouth. I think most want you to have a few years experience in Korea as well.
I wouldn't say a premium, but a white male will have an easier time finding a job. Pay should be the same, but they may treat you a little different. Lets say you were born and raise in America, Only speak english, Have an american name, etc... If your lineage is Vietnamese to the Koreans you are Vietnamese not american. I dont get it. If you are korean and dont speak korean they give you a lot of shit.
