I think everyone hopes to find people being held captive. Not to say we hope for people to be held hostage and tortured and whatnot. But if they are... Wouldn't you want to find them?

Don't sell people extra attachments and so on. Probe to find out if they have a need then provide them with a solution.

"oh you are here buying a laptop because your old one broke?" - boom reason to offer warranty.

"you want to play games on your new pc?" - gaming accessory sale.

It's all about solution providing. Don't think of it as selling extra stuff.

Edit: also when offering extra warranty or what not. Do it early in the conversation. Then talk about other stuff and at the end discreetly bring it up again. It gives them more time to think about it and not feel like you are looking for more money.
