Does the ideal of "racial justice" surpass normal "justice"? I know there are plenty of racists in the US (mostly clueless ones), but does tightroping the double jeopardy line on someone who doesn't have a racist history (in this case Zimmerman) really mean that the feds "make sure that the police and prosecutors handled the case, investigation and prosecution correctly"?

And doesn't the political pressure being put on the Justice Department make it more likely that Zimmerman wouldn't get a fair review by the DoJ? This seems like something the ACLU should be all over....
