Not Op but I'm also a DACA recipient. For me, I fully understand that there are people who are following the law and haven't been able to get anything done as far as getting citizenship. But me personally, I'm not asking for anybody to just give me my citizenship or residency.

I was brought here when I was 12. I couldn't have done this on my own. It wasn't my choice to be here, actually, I didn't want to come to the US. I didn't want to lose my friends, my family, my LIFE! But here I am, 17 years later and now I'm facing the prospect of leaving the country that I've known for over half of my life. I don't want to lose my friends, my family, my LIFE... Again.

So to answer your question, don't give me nothing, make sure I'm worth it. Let me show you that I do deserve to be here, let me show you that I value the American lifestyle and all the great opportunities that I've gotten throughout the years. Let me show you that I can be beneficial to this great country.

I personally would be extremely happy if Trump kept DACA, I think it's a great starting point to see who deserves what. The DACA process is not that long and for me it's not expensive at all. Keep giving us 2-3 year permits, make us pay a fee, make us stay on our toes (make sure we are not causing trouble), keep a tab on us. Again, don't just give it to us, make us earn it.

Unless you work for somebody that pays cash, then yes. We all do. For real. And if somebody does pay you in cash, you could still file a 1099 just like anybody else. We also can't get food stamps, unemployment and other services that an US citizen would get. Even if people worked here illegally with a fake SS, they would still pay taxes. Yet there wouldn't be a way for these people to get a tax refund even if they qualified for it.

It's really hard to NOT pay taxes, unless the employer is in on it.

Glad to see this question. I feel like that's his point of view. A lot of Mexicans never hop a wall, they come the same way as he did, under a visa and overstaying.

It's a workers permit. That's all it is. And yes, we are still illegal immigrants that have legal presence.
