As a current medical student, something like this is my greatest fear you spend your entire youth studying and doing everything required to become a practicing physician only to have something like this happen. Therefore, frequent breastfeeding can help to delay a new pregnancy (see Session 8 on Mother's Health). Breastfeeding at night is important to ensure this effect.
