In 2010 I had my daughter, I got fired from my job because they couldn't provide maternity leave. We were fine for a couple months. Then my husband got laid off. He wrecked our only car and we had no choice but to turn to government assistance. We were on it about 8 months until I found my current job which paid for me to get my STNA, my husband got a job as a head cook at the local hospital and we bought a new car. We both together now make about $40,000 a year. (We live in a small town.)

I had a resident once that was convinced I was her niece. Every day she would ask me how my mom was and if she still worked down the street and so on. She was the best lady ever. I would always do her nails and she would tell me "but honey I don't have any money with me" I always had to tell her her son paid for it.
