I really want this answered. This is something that really bothers me because I believe that all faiths are "right" but they just are in their own way. I don't see how you can claim one belief system is more correct than another.

That's my biggest concern too. I'm merely speculating, but someone like this could easily get the girls to start believing god knows what. They may be tough and resilient kids, but if your mom is telling you something, chances are good that you're going to believe her without a scond thought. Especially at that age.
