You’re sounding a little aggressive there pal. I mean, my mom was a little girl in France in the early 40’s. She lived in relative safety in Nancy, but was aware of what Hitler was doing. She still would smile and nod her head at the Nazis occupying her country. That doesn’t mean she fully supported them, only that she could do nothing about it. OP is a young guy just trying to reach his 20s. He is far more aware of his government’s transgressions than you’ll ever be. No need to be trying to pound your POV down his throat. AMA means ask me anything, not tell him what to think. Back off a quarter turn, will ya?

I feel ya there man. My dad was a drill Sargent in the US Army for several years when I was growing up. He’d teach PE in the morning, come home to shower and change during his lunch hour, then return for the rest of the day for classroom/weapons training for the rest of the day. What that meant for me was that every day, I had two pairs of boots and two sets of brass to polish every day. My sister had to iron two uniforms as well. That shit gets old after a while!

He stayed in the Army until he retired, but only spent about four years as a drill Sargent. I sure was happy when he became an MP. It meant I only had to do one set each day!

Yup it sure did. I’m partially deaf so I couldn’t join myself-much to my disappointment. But that discipline instilled in me from birth allowed me to pursue a great career in the maritime industry, and I retired at the age of 50, the same age as my dad. It’s amazing what a bit of discipline can do for you!

He's actually said that he's going to ramp up the hiring of judges in anticipation on the influx of immigration cases.
