Great question. I'd love to know the answer too. Usually it boils down to 'they have it and will give it to the government, and the government will use that informal to round you up when they start suppressing speech they don't like' type scenarios.

I don't use Facebook because I simply don't care to keep in touch with people that I'm not close with. I also block most ads with uBlock. But I understand Google's practices and still use damn near every Google app I can get my hands on.

Nothing wrong with that opinion? Even though the DSM where you got that quote EXPLICITLY states it's not a mental disorder? The DSM also advocates for gender reassignment surgery, hrt and legal recognition of transitioned gender all to be considered as treatment options. And it specifies one of the reasons it remains in the DSM is to allow a diagnosis to allow for insurance coverage for said treatment.
