How does the pay work? Do you get paid by the scene or by the movie/episode? Have you ever been reluctant to do a certain stunt, or ask to be paid more to do it? I'm sure it varies, but can you ballpark your pay per stunt/episode/movie?

I will answer for my county, as I work for the Election Board.

• Do you use paper ballots exclusively?

No, we give the voter the option of using a paper ballot or the touchscreen

• How do you submit the totals?

After the polls are closed, the media and backup paper rolls get pulled from the touchscreens and ballot reader, put into a bag, secured with a unique seal, and driven to the central office. Every step is handled by a bi-partisan team, including the driving.

• How do you deal with accessibility issues; blind voters?

Any voter needing special assistance is allowed to have someone with them they trust to help them with the voting process. If they need assistance from us, we can provide it as well in a bi-partisan team.

• When do you verify whether there are enough ballots?

The number of ballots sent to each polling location is based on the number of registered voters. I believe they sent somewhere between 90-100% for this election.

• What happens when there aren't enough?

The poll workers can put in a call to the office, and we will print some more and deliver them as a bi-partisan team.

• Do they get stored? Where, by who and how long? Who has access?

At the polling location? They are delivered by a bi-partisan team (notice a trend here?) to a polling location up to a week before the election. They are stored in a big heavy metal case with no screws on the outside. When the poll workers arrive Tuesday morning, they will verify that the seal is intact from the delivery and the numbers match. They then break the seal and unlock the case. They are, of course, in a bi-partisan team when they do this. They verify that how many ballots they should have received matches what is in the case. From there, the 8-10 poll workers handle the ballots and distribute them to voters, in a bi-partisan team of course. At the end of the day, the leftover ballots are counted, add in the number of voters, and you should end up with the same number you had delivered. Both the used and unused ballots and then driver back to the central office at the same time as the media with the voting results.

• What are your ballots like - that is, how do they look? Are they butterfly ballots[1] ?

Ours are not butterfly. One piece of paper, slightly longer than legal size I believe, front and back. Fill in the ovals with pen.

• Can you see what party a voter registered with?

The poll workers can't, no.

• Have you received instructions about limitations on who can be present during the counting of the votes?

They don't count at the polling places here.
