From my perspective being in a number of ICUs, I think helping the recovering patients rest by keeping noise from the families of other patients down is very important. After my brain surgery at the Mayo Clinic, there was some guy on his cellphone walking back and forth in front of my room being incredibly loud. I was very weak from surgery and couldn’t find my nurse call button. Fortunately my husband happened to arrive and I asked him to send that loud guy on his way. I would assume this would be helpful for any ICU patient which is why I mentioned this.

This was a point of contention in FL too where snowbirds were able to get vaccinated before anyone else who lives in FL year round. Rumor was that even Canadians were able to obtain the vaccine if they are over 65. I’m not sure if that was actually true, but what I am sure of is that the role out for vaccines was not handled well and didn’t account for high demand and fear about the virus within the public. I hope we can all get vaccinated and move on soon.
