My question is, what (or who) is the biggest source of failure towards victims (or those close to them) trying to get help? i.e. is social work underfunded? Are they just negligent? Do more people need to learn about how to spot signs?

Thanks for your reply. Yeah I recall the UK government defines domestic abuse by 5 criteria, only 1 of which is physical violence. I hope very much that all victims of domestic abuse can be given better help to be able to leave safely (or have abuser removed). That is fantastic news for Scotland, as these effects on victims and children of victims are well known indeed... Thanks for the AMA, love the work you're doing, all the best.
