I've got an offer for physics and philosophy at an Oxford college. I still feel a bit intimidated by the whole place (and unsure if I should take the offer up). How was your experience?

Candidate for the same seat as our current PM more like! I suspect he has no such ambitions, but even if he does, with all due respect he's not even close to being an MP yet, let alone a frontbencher, let alone a candidate for party leader.

And this is an Ask Me Anything - and I should think a question that might draw out something interesting about his university experience as well as being relevant and helpful to me is totally fair game. Certainly better than asking what his fave flavour of ice cream is.

Hikaru, do you ever listen to music while playing chess? What bands to you listen to? How does it affect your play?
