My best friend of 42 years is suffering from MS and I wanted to just take a moment to thank you for supporting MS charities. He's now in a wheelchair but every Thursday I take him out to a local bar for our boys' night and was wondering if you would be willing to send him a quick personal message of encouragement I could share with him tomorrow? His name is Johnny and he's as Italian as they get so I know he'd get a charge out of hearing from you! And would you be willing to please share with Reddit why this cause is so close to your heart?

Thank you and keep helping fight the good fight for a great cause!

EDIT: I read a previous answer and saw that your Mom has MS. Johnny is like a brother to me having been best buds since we were 4 so I know it's difficult seeing the effect such a mysterious disease has on our loved ones. Keep the faith!

Find something with a mechanical background and community colleges are a great place to earn a vocational certificate if you missed the opportunity in high school. I work for an industrial crane company after 5 years in HVAC after 18 years in telecom and for the entirety of my 25 year career skilled tradesman have always been in short supply but nothing like today where it's going to be a problem in 5 years when most of the Boomers retire. We hire young guys all the time with some mechanical experience or education and they do very well as OTJ training is more effective than any classroom will ever be.

Great post and it makes you think about how fine the line is between homage and clone. In the US we may copy some aspects of other cultures we admire but they're certainly not meant to represent our own culture. But in China they seem so desperate for the world to see them as equals that they mistakenly think cloning things and passing them off as their own is the way to achieve it. If you really want to see how fake China can be just look at images of Beijing from the 2008 Olympics and compare them to ones from today. They closed their factories for weeks to clear the pollution so that Westerners wouldn't notice they are the worst polluters in the world.
