I'd just like to put it out there, that if being a polite normal person is offensive to them, that is their problem and not yours. You should not have to consider your manners for each individual you come across.

And yet, so many people do it legally, and are proud of it. Many, many other countries it is even more difficult to acquire citizenship unless you can prove your are valuable to their society and culture.

Most European countries don't have birthright citizenship also, so being born there doesn't guarantee citizenship.

Just because you don't like a law doesn't excuse someone from breaking it.

well said.

I find DACA to be similar to if people don't pay their power bill. The power company can defer cutting off your electricity for a while, but as long as you don't pay, they will eventually just "heartlessly" cut you off.

Obama himself said DACA was not amnesty, so people running around acting like it is, is completely misrepresenting even what the enacting president intended. DACA people and their parents knew very well that their status was in limbo already - much as the marijuana laws are in many states. Illegal, but not enforced, and potentially the hammer could come down at any time.

The DACA people who we are constantly told are valuable members of our society I'm fairly certain wouldn't have any problems going through proper immigration channels to get a green card or some sort of work visa - the 80% of the rest should rightfully be returned to their country of citizenship. I would completely be in favor of legislation that processed expedient green cards for dreamers to not require them to leave the country or lose their jobs - at the discretion of the immigration process.

Immigrants don't get squatters rights.

That's all fine and dandy until all the positions are filled by students bankrolled by their wealthy parents.
