What do you think about organizations such as Avaaz and SumOfUs buying company shares with donations with the goal of becoming board members and holding said companies accountable from the inside?

Do you know if that's actually making a difference in the grand scheme of things?

I don't know if Spotify lies or not. What I meant is that Spotify is not any better as far as using DRM encoded audio tracks.

Again, leaving DRM aside, I can probably tolerate lossy audio as long as as the encoding is better than Spotify's. Also Tidal's artist payout structure seems to be better to Spotify's, so that's another plus in my opinion.

Are any of those options perfect? No. But it does warrant considering a switch from a shitty service to a less shitty one in my opinion.

MQA is just a file format, though. I thought you were saying that the artist payout structure itself is a scam.

I think I can live with a lossy format, as long as it's superior to Spotify's.
