Rachel,

What do you think is the single worst offense being committed by the Obama administration right now? What about the Republicans in the Senate and/or House?

ETA: Several people have pointed out that this might not be a fair wording. Let's rephrase: Since we can safely assume that you have your disagreements with the president's handling of certain issues, what is your strongest point of disagreement with the Obama administration, whether in terms of their agenda, their actions, or even their silence on certain issues? And same question, for the Republicans in the House and Senate.

I'm beginning to think she's only here to talk about Rampart.

I'm one of the lead developers on an ELD product, and I was also responsible for its regulatory compliance. While it is true that the ELD helps to enforce HOS regulations, the thing is that drivers were already supposed to be abiding by those rules before they were ever on an ELD/AOBRD in the first place. In my experience, the people that complain about them mostly do so because they've been flouting the law for years and suddenly can't do it anymore.

While I don't disagree that the HOS rules need to be updated for more flexibility, I have mostly found that drivers are primarily angry because one of their loopholes for ignoring the laws has finally been closed. If you go on a site like Overdrive and read the comments, many of them blatantly say "this will keep me from cheating as I always have," albeit in a slightly less blatant wording.

The ELD regulation needs some tuning; trust, me, as someone who's had to live and breathe it for years, I can see that. But frankly, truckers need to follow the law, and many of them haven't been. Those guys endanger the public every day. The companies that we work with, from owner-operators up through medium sized multi-state companies, find the ELD makes their recordkeeping easier and more accurate, alerts them to drivers trying to fudge the rules, and is seen as an overall good.

What range of, for lack of a better term, power levels will the game allow for? I understand that the goal for the game is to be able to make any hero the user wants, but most of the demos seem to be a character that's in the FPS hero/Batman/low end superhero range. Will it be possible to make a Superman-level character and still have a balanced game there, or will that be something that's only allowed in the "casual" mode I've seen mentioned a couple of times?

I was really happy to see y'all name check City of Heroes as a source of inspiration. I've always said that if someone made an action game with a CoH-like level of character customization, both in powers and appearance, I'd be there day one to buy it. I'm really happy to contribute to this Kickstarter.
