This is absolutely untrue with regards to Parvo. At every shelter I’ve worked with, our Parvo survival rates are over 90 percent. There is no reason to euthanise a dog just because it’s positive for Parvo.
As for distemper, not every dog with distemper develops neurological signs. Even those who do may still go on to have a good quality of life.
You can’t save them all, but both of these diseases can be survivable with supportive care. We’ve come a long way from the ‘kill them all’ mentality.
