Heh...I had been typing a response to that, too, albeit a bit less angry. In case the user's reading, I might try a different tact:

If you look over the team bios, you'll see the main members that assumedly spend the most time on this also have other job/s that are probably their bread-earning position. I imagine this is more something he invests into, then is able to draw a salary from, especially right now.

While I know people get uneasy about CEOs of charities who have nice homes, it's a funny thing - those who risk and sacrifice the most should be able to eventually care for themselves and their families, as long as they're transparent about how donations are used. I'm not sure why the public has such an issue with people taking care of themselves AND others.

Like potsyflank said, too, people are asking HIM to let them work (even for free), because of the opportunity to gain experience, and be a part of something meaningful to them. As a sidenote, those "douchebag" Christian volunteer orgs charge volunteers to cover airfare and food and housing and the staff that drives them around, etc, because the opportunity to gain experience is worth it to those who go. I also see nothing wrong with that.

Howdy ho - TOTALLY agree that donating to local charities is far better. the way to go to help people. Thing is, those trips are for those who want to help others and learn something themselves, or get a feelgood (or get their kids to care).

I much prefer the work that you're doing - it sounds quite touhg, three months at a time. Do you have a blog during that time? Feel free to PM me!

Very, very cool. Wish I had the pleasure of knowing more people like him (you, too, I'm sure, but I just have more reading to do!). Thanks for doing what you do, and for taking time to answer our questions.

What does Dr. Tom and the team have to say? Is the printer still there, so they can make more prostheses, particularly for kids as they grow out of their current ones?

Or were most of the people you helped adults? Thanks!
