Yeah man, long distance sucked. It almost wrecked us. We were separated by about 800 miles for over a year and a half. So when she moved it was great but kind of a shock because we didn’t know how to handle not only GETTING to see each other every day, but HAVING to see each other every day.

Was there anything in the past (during long-distance) that you learned later (like post long-distance) that came up as a result of this project? For example, I found out my wife’s porn preferences from before we moved in together LONG after we got married. It’s like, man I wish I’d k own that six years ago, shit. (That was my real question, sorry for the lack of clarity.)

Right on, I know what you mean 100% And some people say you should get married before you move in with someone! Good on them, but I’m glad we didn’t wait.

My marriage and two children are a result (product?) of a long distance relationship. I’m interested to watch this.

Do you learn anything about your girlfriend doing this project you did not know while you were in the long distance aspect?

We were off and on in college for about a year. She was still in school when I did my teaching internship about 3.5 hours away, but I still went to visit nearly every weekend. After I proper graduated (in December) I moved back to the city our school was in while I looked for a job, that was the first steady together stretch.

I got a job that August about 130 miles away, so I saw her on the weekends for that whole year. I left her place most Monday mornings at about 3:00 am.

Then I got a job in Florida (she was in Virginia) and moved. She came to visit for a week when I moved down. Then I lost that job and moved in with my mother (still in Florida) and she came to visit a couple of times, but my parents were always around.

Then I got another job, and she moved down. We lived together for three years before getting married, and our first daughter was born two years after our wedding, #2 due in December (gender unknown.) Still in Florida, trying to get back home, though.

So... 1 year, 6 months, 1 year, ONE YEAR, then 3 years together before getting married? Something like that. ‘Twas rough. But it’s in my wedding vows.

I love your stuff, it’s so fun to listen to, looks like a blast to play.

How do you handle and/or what are your general thoughts on the general state of copyright licensing? I’m a band director and lately it has become somewhat of a (very expensive) headache to get proper licensing for songs we want to play or arrange. Do you run into stuff like that?
