Straight up what I have had to tell career jammers and other people who wanted nothing more than for me to stay because I was a qualified mech. I just couldn't stay in a place that just shit on my life 75% of the time.

Edit: life not like

Well if I factored in leave and time spent scamming, your telling me 100% of your life was shit on? Also I can see you might be making joke, so being unsure I thought I might explain my made up math and arbitrary number.

I wish more people understood this. Honestly when people I know ask why I don't tell other people I'm a veteran if the question is asked. It's because I'm tired of having to give this answer.

Exactly like you I will never regret my service in my country's military, USMC incase you wanted to know. I'm just so sick and tired of having people thanking me for something they know absolutely nothing about. I'm sorry if thinking that way makes me seem ungrateful, but I'm just sick and tired of hearing it.

Rant over, great post Brother.

First off, let me clarify that not everyone in the US military shares that opinion. I couldn't even give a percentage of those that do, but myself and plenty close to me do.

Second, I would like to thank you for even considering military service as most people I have asked say no or just kinda laugh it off, which is almost insulting to me.

Also don't worry your family and friends don't hate you or anything. They might internally cringe a little when you say it or they might whole wholeheartedly appreciate you for it. I don't know them, so I can't speak for them.

Honestly to type out my full explanation would take too long, but feel free to PM me and I would gladly explain this over Skype/phone or something If you wanted me to.

I was a USMC CH-53E Mechanic, my question is: did you have any qualifications you had to achieve and what are they called?
