Maybe it's just perhaps the way you're wording your description of what happened, but did you and your fellow mates hold animosity towards the CO and LC for "hiding" while everyone else under their command was suffering the attack?

I work with elementary aged kids in Special Education. Last week a 3rd grader drew a very detailed picture of a volcano and an asteroid crashing into it. I alleviated his fears of the likelihood of such an event, but he wanted to know what would happen if an asteroid did indeed crash into the crater of an active volcano.

I had to tell him honestly, I don't know. What would happen?

In Native American schools, how far back does the teaching of native history and culture go?

I recently traveled across country and spent a considerable amount of time in the south-/mid-west states, going through many reserves and a lot of native american museums. Most of what the history guides and people could tell me really only centered around the time that colonialism over the natives began, and their persecutions thereafter as if the culture is defined by their oppressions.

I've done my share of hitch hiking in my travels. What is a sign that makes you think "Sh!t, I need to get away from this person" when hitching?

When you get flown out someplace as part of the job and you're in that place for enough time to do something(s) (be it hours or days), what are your go-to activities? Does the airline accommodate your hotel/food?
