You can't answer that because of your position. Let's see if I can help. Our society is under-informed, largely uneducated, and partially due to the media, very Mericah-centric. Less than 41% of our voting-age citizen population chose to cast a ballot in 2014. 14% of our adult population are illiterate and 21% read below a 5th grade level. 2.8% are PPP(Prison/Parole/Probation). There are certainly other circumstances not covered that are applicable but you get it. Those over 40 are between 2 and 4 times more likely to vote than those in their 20's. The elder generations are deciding our fate despite their 10% lower accessibility to the internet and certain lack of comparative understanding. The overwhelming point is that it is up to us to change things. Our policies and actions are derived through politics. The media is going to lie to us; that's a given. If we fail to activate and educate everyone around us then everything will be our fault; no excuses.

I would hope that no citizen would withdraw from their civic duty to engage in politics. My only concern is, as you observed, it is "poisonous for the church." One of the church's greatest concerns is this gradual but concrete decline in religious believers. What they fail to see from the outside is they are literally scaring people away through divisiveness in politics, and by the portrayal of an aggressor in things that do not align with their beliefs. We need to pay attention to human nature. Their paradox comes when believers wane then the church will speak of judgement and endings without considering that their toils with aggression and division are the things that perpetuated it all.

I listen to any talk radio station I encounter in order to gain perspective and understanding. Recently I've noticed how often a biblical lecture turns into a political support campaign. How do you feel about the insertion of political ideology into religious commentary. Is it morally correct to interleave politics into biblical teachings instead of being addressed separately?

The psychology of one expressing an idea that all is lost is a little counterintuitive.
