The day after my LASIK procedure a few years back, I lost vision for about 30 seconds. In the days that followed, I noticed more and more "floaters", which have built to the point that they interfere with my vision while reading or using a computer. I called my LASIK office, and they said I had an "ocular migraine", and it's unrelated to my procedure. That seemed like BS. Were they just covering their butts?

Also, I was told by some follow up docs (not at the same office) that I'm pretty much stuck with the floaters. Is that still the case?

What I'm about to say is purely anecdotal, so take it with a grain of salt. I had LASIK 4 years ago. The day after my procedure, I temporarily lost vision (about 30 seconds or so). In the subsequent days, the number of floaters in my eyes went up drastically, to the point where they interfere with my daily life. Not terribly so, but they get in the way when reading or using the computer. In every eye exam since, the examiner has said something about the floaters before I even mention it.

The original LASIK office said I experienced an "ocular migraine" (or something to that effect -- my memory is terrible), and it's unrelated to my Lasik. I don't buy that for a second, but did not want to go down a legal route to challenge that, particularly because subsequent doctors say that I'm pretty much stuck with the floaters.

So I don't recommend LASIK to anyone. I expect I'm an outlier, though, so I'm not especially vocal about it.

Good luck!
