Could you expand on the weird border quasi-legal thing?

I feel your pain. The exact thing happened to me Florence to Milan and I still cringe.

No they tried to tell me and went and got an employee to ask me to move in English when I couldn’t understand. I was on the wrong train (to the right place at least) and definitely in their seats.

Is this something you do before or did you find out during the crossing?

Would you do it again? Should other people try it?
