Having spent many a quarter playing Street Fighter, I wanted to like it. On top of that, it had a lot of terrific actors, including Neal McDonough, one of my favorite actors. The writers had a lot to work with - but came up with some of the most groan-inducing dialog that I had heard in quite a while. The dialog you were given at the beginning by the shipping containers sticks out in my mind as an example of this.

I'm the type that will finish a whole series of novels even if the first was bad - but the dialog plot in that movie were so cringe-worthy that I gave up and left at the point where Bison sacrifices his wife.

Was there a point during the filming of Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li when you realized just how completely awful it was going to turn out?

He was on NPR a while back, promoting Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy, and he was talking in his normal accent. At the time, I remember thinking, "WTF - that sounds nothing like Gary Oldman." Then the interviewer commented on it as well. I've always loved him as an actor, but that just drove home the point about how fucking talented this guy is.
