Oh my god. Having worked in men's prisons, they're the same. Inmates are all whiny, immature, and generally act like teenagers. It's like high school, except the teachers have guns and body armor.

As the healthy SO of someone with a genetic disorder, let me just say this:

Sometimes, being with someone with a vast array of chronic health problems can be hard, but i don't begrudge my partner the special accommodation she needs because of her ill health. Please don't ever feel that you're a burden or that you aren't worth the trouble, because you are, and I know it always cuts deep when my SO is feeling low and tells me I deserve better. Being with a chronically ill partner isn't easy, but love makes it all worthwhile.
