It seems like it would be really draining to be undercover for years, to have that be your life, and then one day it just ends.

A lot of Chinese people live in big cities. That's a lot of walking every day. It's the same with Koreans, Japanese, etc. It's easier to be skinny when you have to walk all day. Also, at least in Korea, but I have heard in China and Japan too, your family/friends will have no problem calling you fat and telling you to lose weight if you gain even a few lbs.
