You have to LIE. Say you're only going a few blocks. Pretend to get a text, then say "actually, can you take me to (your destination). It's illegal for them to refuse service within the city limits, so if you're in the FQ and need a lift to Lakeview (which I've been refused several times), tell them you're going to someplace close like Esplanade and City Park, then change it to your actual address.
