He is married, does that count as answering

Do you have a girlfriend?

While that is true, and sucks for the game playing public, keep in mind that the union's sole interest and purpose for existing is to protect the players' interests and make the most money for the players.

Personally, I think this issue would be something to take up with the League itself, rather than the NFLPA, because the League could consider the goodwill inherent in splitting the license, rather than only protecting the players.

I will have a law degree in June, are there any opportunities within the NFLPA for a new attorney who really cares about both sports and labor rights/labor relations? If it helps, I have courses in labor relations, negotiation and bargaining!

If not, I will stick to my original plan of trying out at a regional combine and joining the NFLPA as an undrafted free agent with the Seahawks. Win Forever!

To add to George's response, I think a lot of bellyaching from fans about "letting them play" is on handfighting calls between receivers and defensive backs, which aren't dangerous, rather than on those hard hits (although fans do complain about that too).

"Do you have a girlfriend" was allegedly one of the questions the GM's were asking (along with "do you like girls?")

The joke being that being married is more serious than having a girlfriend.
