How much do you actually get to read for pleasure? Has your profession dampened your enthusiasm for reading as entertainment?

As a fellow experienced car salesman, I can tell you that depending on which dealership you go to some of the advice you are giving is completely backward at my current dealership. That is what makes buying a car difficult. Each dealer generally focuses on making money on different aspect of the deal.

I tell my customers the same thing every time. Find the car you want and focus on buying it solely, otherwise facts will get confused. You will always get about $1,000-$2,000 more to sell your car outright. There is a difference between buying a car and "getting screwed". If you bought a $20,000 car and the dealer made $1,500 you didn't get screwed, you got a fair deal. After all you are buying a car, not a hamburger. The people that try to "screw the dealer" and give me a hard time always pay more, every single time. Be nice, polite, but well informed. Don't be afraid to ask for more.

What makes a good deal? Getting the car you actually want at a fair price.
