Was the customer aware there is a 50,000 dollar limit on DV?

Most UPS stores have their UPS packages delivered before 10:30 AM because they mostly only make one stop and if they have any next day air packages they are guaranteed before that time. It won't get there say a day early but should be there earlier in the day. I would call the specific store beforehand though to make sure they don't charge a package pickup fee.

The price for notaries varies wildly from state to state. A two dollar notary is only a fifth of what they cost here in California.

Not OP, but they have some discounts if you have AAA or AARP. Usually it will be 5% off UPS shipping and 15% off other services. Whenever someone mentioned they had a discount I was glad to apply it. Also as of the beginning of the year UPS has gone the dimensional weight route even for small packages, the smaller the package the less you'll pay. It used to be different but like I said very recent change. As far as the China part almost every package I saw delivered from there came via their USPS equivalent which is substantially cheaper but also a lot less safe.

Not OP, but as it has been explained on here UPS Store and UPS are not the same company. If you print out the label the store is making a very small fraction of what it would make if you shipped out through them. If you think 2 dollars is bad try going to a fedex office to print something out. They charge not only per minute but also for each print you do.
