As someone with a lot of web development experience but no game development experience, my understanding of your answer is that RN is not a good fit for 3d games. How about 2d games (for example, a side scrolling platformer?)

A lot of the frustrations with ios development revolve around having to dive into xcode. Does the react native team plan to make improvements so that developers less spend time in there?

It may be a stretch, but being able to test and run without using a mac, for example.
