How do you think microfinance (and microcredit in particular) can help alleviate poverty? Is that of any help to the poorest people, or only tho those slightly above that level?

How important are randomized control trials (RCT) in determining which project actually work, and which do not? Is RCT data available for many projects? Do NGO's and intitutions like the World Bank and IMF use this data?
