PD for 4 years and now 9 months post kidney transplant. I didn't know I was sick until I was almost dead at age 38 and it was rough. I was able to keep working for a few years.
I hated dialysis so much I would rather die than go back on it when my transplant fails. The nurses who helped the most listened to what I needed and tried to keep as much control in my hands as possible. My team was super flexible with helping me find the combo of fluid and time to help me clear the best on PD and not be in too much pain during fills or drains.
I switched hospitals after a horrible post-surgical experience and am so pleased with the new one. Everyone that came in my room asked if I needed anything else and if I did, they'd get it instead of saying they'd let my nurse know and leaving. They read my chart and believed me so I had a flight nurse place my IV without the entire staff taking a stab at it. I got the pain meds I needed without having to call for them multiple times or having anyone treat me like I was drug-seeking.
Basically, remember that I'm a person having a really bad day/life and treat me with the care and patience you'd give to your loved ones.

If you could date another intersex person (assuming you like each other), would you rather do that? I suppose that's like asking a bi/pan person their preference and it depends more on the person than their genital configuration, but do you think it would make the relationship easier? How do you feel about being lumped into the + part of LGBTAQIA? Or do you not feel part of that community since you're basically a straight woman?

What would you tell people who want to do voice work but have distinctive accents? Is that part of their charm or should they forget about it/take elocution lessons?

Does the fact that Ms. Imini was Kurdish have any effect on how people are reacting to her murder? Or is she seen as Iranian first?
