Again, Airbnb support does not help this issue at all and blatantly overrides the so-called “immune system”.

I had a host try to shake me down for extra money after my stay saying that I trashed their place. I didn’t - I have great guest reviews from people who specifically call out my cleanliness - but I had no proof. The host’s demands were done outside the app and their story kept changing.

I submitted all this to Airbnb support, who informed me that this was a “he said/she said” situation and that since I couldn’t prove that I didn’t trash the apartment, they couldn’t support me (even though the host’s conduct was clearly outside Airbnb’s rules). Their solution? I couldn’t review the host, and the host couldn’t review me.

So here’s an obvious scammer who I would have given a terrible review, but I wasn’t allowed. So much for self-policing.

Grey is OG's digital/social AOR too. However, I doubt they're behind this because I used to work there and half the account team didn't even have a Facebook account, let alone know what Reddit is. More likely it's someone at Darden - they would have more of an ability to quickly falsify a receipt in any case.

Wine has a lot of regionally specific rules too, especially in France (Champagne, Bordeaux). Scotch means whisky from Scotland. Bourbon is American whisky that’s primarily made with corn and aged in charred oak (among other requirements).

There are some other techy details like the proof at which it enters and exits the barrel, but that’s the gist of it.
