I would disagree with your statement on 'everybody has guns'. The weapons are used mostly against the opposition and not by them. Especially in the student-lead protests, the emphasis is on not having weapons, but protesting peacefully with signs and in-person presence.

How long do you think these protests will go on before the government falls, or the opposition gives up?

Venezuela does not have a free press or freedom of speech. There are no national news outlets that aren't manipulated by the government.
