Stay strong sounds like you need therapy too to process these feelings around how much her untreated depression and anxiety has affected you

Yours is a fascinating industry. I am obsessed with all things imaging technology, and Rochester surely is the birthplace of all things related to that field. Before the advent of the digital technology that companies like Kodak and institutions such as RIT have been at the cutting edge of, jobs like yours wouldn't be possible. Especially non-invasive, non-destructive research. Because it's a technology/industry that has time and time again completely changed the course of human history and communication itself (the first daggerotypes, first cellulose films, first roll-film, first digital sensors, smartphones and sharing etc).
My question(s) is/are, how do you think your work will influence the technology that will next change consumer imaging? How is Rochester still on the forefront of this in new ways? How can we learn from our mistakes as a society with cameras and over-pervasive sharing and social media? How do you envision later generations' relationship with imaging?

It’s not all good and all bad. I’ve had difficult experiences that weigh on me today. I’ve had profound positive experiences that have shaped my outlook on the world for the better too.
