This is the second time I've heard that term used in the last 2 days.
I am reading "Breasts" by Florence Williams
And in the book, there are many theories as to the harm that the prevalence of chemicals in our society (and the government's inability/unwillingness to regulate their usage) that have led to situations such as precocious puberty. The title of the book (Breasts) is named as such because that organ, and its high fat contents as well as its ever changing state of being (pre-puberty, puberty, pregnancy, breast feeding, post breast feeding, menopause, etc), puts the breast in a very interesting position of being a bit of a "bell weather" for their environment. The breast's ability to take cues the person's world around them served them well for many thousands of years. But, that same ability now puts it in a much more dangerous position. I can't name all of the chemicals and their scientifically proven effects on the human/animal body, but I can tell you that industrialized nations have the highest levels found in their bodies. And of those nations, the USA is definitely leading the pack. At least Europe is attempting to regulate chemical companies, the US seems to be in bed w/ them!
I feel like I may have steered off topic. Anyway, yes, wow, second time I've heard that term.

My husband and I have thought of adopting or fostering. We have two small boys of our own, are well off and I do not want to be pregnant again. What do you think of people w children fostering children? What were your experiences?
