First, ignoring bullying is an ineffective way to prevent it--when has ignoring any problem been an effective strategy to deal with it. Second, why should the onus be on a child to stop someone from victimizing them? This is the role that responsible adults are supposed to play. Third, it is not an entirely different subject from domestic violence. An abuser is nothing more than an adult bully, and many childhood bullies become adult abusers.

Suppose you replace "bullying" with some other morally objectionable activity:
Maybe instead of training people not to beat their wives (which seems impossible) we should teach people to ignore domestic violence.
Doesn't seem like a very civilized way to deal with the problem, eh?

A small piece of advice:
If you plan to study healthcare, please don't neglect math. Having worked with nursing students I have seen many, many otherwise successful students who do not have the math skills they need. Even working professionals are often terrible at math and it is a danger to patients.
