I love the internet so much right now.

When I was on vacation with my parents in South Dakota a few years ago, my mom would have to mention how her husband and her son were part native to every Sioux person we met. And each time, I'd die a little inside. It was so embarrassing. And yeah, their reactions were always "That's nice. :)" They were so polite about it even though it was so condescending.

Jesus, you're younger than me! I always feel weird when I hear war stories from people in my age group while I sit on ass complaining because the internet is slow and the air conditioning sucks.

I see a lot of military guys using metric all the time (I live near a fort, so I know a lot of them). Is this some kind of military standard or something?

I noticed there was a picture of you inside a lock. Do they actually let a tiny boat like yours through the locks? Do they open and close the locks just for your little kayak?
